Offers healthier menu options

Gary, Ind.,-- Burger Planet teams with fitness guru, Jayne Petersen, in their efforts to provide healthier menu options for their customers.

"For more than seven decades, Burger Planet has succeeded solely by our customers and we have always put them first," said CEO James E. Mullenbach III. Listening to their customers, the company has committed to offer healthier options which none is similar to their competitors, while still serving their traditional burgers, fries and soda.

"The company believes in encouraging customers to live healthier, active lifestyles and I have spent my life trying to teach women that lesson," said Peterson. President and CEO of Looking Glass Inc., Petersen conveys the message of moderation. "Women can still eat burgers and fries now and then as long as they are active," said Petersen.

Along with developing new tray liners that will offer nutritional advice and a new adult Burger Planet Smiley Meal, Petersen will also work with the chefs to ensure optimum healthiness of the new options available.

Corny the Clown, the beloved Burger Planet mascot, and Petersen will unite in advertisements and in health-conscious appearance at restaurants and shopping malls around the country. The first event is the kick-off ceremony at the Burger Planet franchise located in Times Square in New York, New York on May 12.

Burger Planet has served 52 million customers and counting since founded in 1934 by retired James E. Mullenbach I, President of the Quick Service Restaurant Industry. It had 8,921 franchises in every state and 17 countries when last counted. It is headquartered in Gary, Ind., and employs 48,272 people.
