NASC OFFERS AN EXPERIENCE OF INDIGENOUS CULTURE
Native American Student Council emanates Native American culture throughout Cache Valley. NASC provides a support group for Native American students, USU students, community organizations, and other USU clubs.
In a united atmosphere, NASC engages in numerous activities held on and off the USU campus. The council is known for hosting an annual Pow-Wow that preserves pride in traditions and a lasting sense of family.
Their upcoming event is on Nov. 8 when hosting a catered reception after President of the Society of Indian Psychology John Peregoy, PhD., gives a speech on the topic "Walk in Two Worlds, " at 11:30 pm in the Taggert Student Center Sunburst Lounge. This event is open to the public, students, alumni, and faculty/staff.
NASC meets Thursday at 8:00 pm. Refreshments, sometimes dinner, is provided. Membership is free and is extended to non-Native Americans and non-USU students. "The more the merrier," said NASC President Cystal Jones.
